The 2011 team had an up and down year overall. The rules presented a new challenge by requiring a cantilever on one end which the team had not encountered in recent memory. Regionals were hosted at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where the UW-Madison team took 1st place for the 14th consecutive year in the Great Lakes Region. On to College Station for nationals the team went. 16 men traveled the 20+ hour trip straight south to Texas A&M to compete alongside 45 other bridges. Unfortunately the bridge failed in the lateral test, however the team was happy with all that was accomplished in the past year and looked forward to competing at a high level in the upcoming years.
